Alpine idyll at the Mooserhofin Rein in Taufers
Nestled between a breathtaking mountain backdrop and the unique natural landscape of the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park, our idyllic mountain farm lies at 1,600 metres above sea level. As a young farming family, we run a traditional dairy farm with our Simmental cattle – with plenty of heart and a deep bond with our homeland and its traditions. In our holiday apartments, cosy South Tyrolean style meets modern comfort: an ideal holiday home for mountain enthusiasts and nature lovers.
Your starting pointfor nature and adventure
The Mooserhof is located right by the village ski slope, and the cross-country ski trails are only a few metres away. In summer, many hiking trails into the mountain world of the nature park start right on our doorstep. The heart of our farm is our own alpine pasture, which forms part of the Knuttenalm – this is where our cows spend the summer months. The Knuttenalm can be reached directly from our farm in around 90 minutes on foot.

For us, farming is not just a profession but a genuine labour of love. Every day we put a great deal of hard work and passion into running our farm. Whenever the daily routine on the farm allows, we are happy to take you along spontaneously on a little voyage of discovery – whether it is a quick look inside the cowshed, a trip up to the alpine pasture or a short tour of the farm in between chores. This way, you enjoy the perfect blend of undisturbed peace, nature and honest insights into our everyday farming life.
A delicious breakfastand good things from the farm
In the morning, on request, we prepare a hearty breakfast basket for you. Alongside fresh bread you will find farm-fresh and regional products. Every day you can order and collect fresh cow's milk, eggs from our happy chickens or homemade natural yoghurt and herb quark spread directly from us.
